Dick Gaughan - Dance Called America
Переглядів 186Рік тому
The wonderful Dick Gaughan doing Runrigs Dance Called America ,which I used on a clearances video.
Thank you! ♥👏
Love when Jones is singing and Renbourn is playing lead. I wasn't aware Renbourn was such an outstanding lead player, more melodic and structured than his rhythm playing imo.
Prettiest song ever written. thank you

Οι αγαπημένοι, οι δικοί μας άνθρωποι!!!
Wunderschön
Gosh what a show. Two men i never saw live that i always wanted to see. Big influences on my own compositions and albums
Saw John 4 times and Wizz twice mate. Supreme. And Bert tops them both obviously. See him live and you can die happy.
I hadn't been to my local session in Morpeth for months, but thought I was rusty, needed a push but went. It lifted my spirits when 2 stalwarts played Maggie Wests' waltz tentatively. I knew it so well, and slipped away into it. And the fingers drifted into Kate Martins! A whistler called Jimmy Mitchell learnt me the pair,,,was it the Tarland Arms session or blue lamp club Aberdeen? I'll share it with the session now. The impro at the end is wonderful.
Who is this & what happened to Kim Carnie?
Same person 👍🏻
Why is Aly using a cheap old factory made (probably Chinese) violin? Luthiers like myself are disappointed when we see this. Cremona has outlawed the importation of these instruments.
Good players will make even an inexpensive instrument sound magic. I have one "good" flute, and all the rest are "cheap crap". I use them all, because each one sounds different. I reckon Aly simply thought the sound he can get from that fiddle suited the tune at the time. Or maybe, like my flutes right now, some of his alternative fiddles are in for repair or adjustment.
@@marklammas2465 makes sense, but still a little strange. I don’t disagree with you, but who knows ?
@@peterwhite7428 Aly Bain is a Shetland fiddler of immense talent, and who are you? it amazes me that you feel the need to make an issue of the instrument he's playing in this set. It sounds grand, proving that the musician makes the music, not the critic.
@@dolcefarniente8768 don’t be amazed. I know all about Aly Bain. Who am I? I am a life long professional violin maker and musician. I have won a gold medal for violin making in 2010 in Cremona Italy. My question was not intended to provoke you to such a level of outrage. I greatly admire him. Please lighten up
thanks, is the there part 2?
R.I.P. Mícheál.
This is so beautiful. Voice guitar and text all in perfect harmony.

Lovely tune beautifully played
Wonderful to see these cats playing together. Dreaming about the days when they hitch hiked along the National Seven to the south of France.
Deserves more views and more likes. Guess not enough Riggies have found it!
amazing
Only a few days after the absolute master Bert Jansch left us so lovely that Wizz played a couple of Bert's songs as a tribute ❤️
It's funny how Aly has such a knack for bringing out the best in American folk music.
I feel for all who miss the elite end of folk music. If you can understand this, and Bert jansch in particular, it helps you live.
This is amazing. John’s accompaniment is breathtaking. Seen both of them live thank fk
Does that Manran now have 4 Gaelic singers, brilliant. Apparently., is our language on the up Duolingo has a big impute for our beautiful language!!, Trashed by English government over the centuries. People from other countries enjoying the language and songs!! Raibeart Gallgaidhealaibh!
Now the Gaelic Language is supported by the British Government. There has not been an English government for many hundreds of years.
Incredible. I wonder if JB, from widespread panic, knows these cats...... Where have I been, John and Wizz....Hope to see you live!
Extraordinario concierto!! inolvidable maestro John y grande Wizz!
❤
What’s the first track called ?
Wonderful
A true legend.
He played this yesterday 4/11/23 in Edinburgh. Fits in with the rest of the new album beautifully.
Where? I missed this 😢
Thank you for posting this performance. It takes me back - I remember seeing them both at the Hitchin Folk Club around this time. It was a great evening just like this one.
No words on earth for those boys .💥
Still looking for the guitar on the cover of John's first album.
Great tune
Wonderful stuff. I saw them in Topsham where I live just before John sadly left us. The album they did together is also wonderful.
❤❤ brilliant 👏
This is just fantastic! Thank you!
1 love - merci

Any Ramblin' Rovers here? Cheese of the ...?
Magic.
Please the name of this song! Thank you so much!!
Lord Franklin
Having such powerful sisters, Micheal developped a feminine sensitivity singing as a man. Beautiful result!!
Great tune and voice. Greetings from Brazil !
one of SCOTLAND's best piano accordion players Mickie Ainsworth lived just down the road from Scone Palace !
🔥 Promo`SM
Awesome, thanks! Yeah, I use those same strings for my guitars. They're great. Silk and Steel D'Addarios are the bendiest strings on the planet 🌏, and they stay in tune. Great show, guys!
